07/22/2019- Marinette and Menominee are joining forces with the M&M Area Community Foundation and agencies throughout the region in an effort to enhance water and resource management in the Great Lakes basin. The Great Lakes One Water partnership is a collaborative initiative comprised of regional teams who identify different opportunities for Great Lakes management projects. Jon Lee with the local GLOW team and says they’re working to build the resiliency of the lakes by increasing cooperation across traditional governmental bodies.
Paula Gruszynski, Executive Director of the MMACF says they are a leader on the issue, which could help garner some additional funding for the local work.
MMACF is asking the municipalities to take part in the initiative by providing necessary documentation of related water protection policies and ordinances that are in place. The local GLOW team plans to hold an educational session on the project in September.
