08/13/2018- Around two dozen new jobs could be coming to the area under an expansion project at Winsert that broke ground Friday. Governor Scott Walker was in town for the event. He says the state has seen five consecutive months of unemployment below 3%, but that’s presenting a new challenge: in Marinette County and statewide, there are more job openings than people to fill them. Walker says the solution is three-fold.
Two sectors of eligible workforce Walker says the state needs to focus on attracting and retaining: millennials and servicemembers preparing to separate from the military.
The planned 20-thousand square foot expansion at Winsert will accommodate the manufacturing of a new generation of alloys entering the global marketplace. The project is expected to be complete early next year.
