02/11/2019- The latest update on Marinette County’s Share Academy is: there is no update. The contracted care provider for the juvenile facility has filed for and been awaiting their Wisconsin group home licensure. Health and Human Services Director Robin Elsner says that application and accompanying documentation is in the state’s hands, but there’s no definitive word yet on when it might be reviewed and approved. Share Academy, formerly Crossroads, was initially expected to open last December. The 8-bed group home has undergone some substantial renovations since Crossroads closed and the county is already working to identify Marinette County juveniles currently being housed in other facilities across the state who will be a good fit for immediate placement at Share Academy once the licensing is complete.
