05/17/2019- The Marinette Police Department’s recent High Visibility Enforcement effort has proved successful in more ways than one. The HVE has been taking place along Hall Avenue for the past month to help reduce traffic light violations and crashes. To date, the effort has resulted in 31 traffic stops, 18 traffic citations, 15 warnings, and 1 felony drug arrest. Officers say HVE is designed to change unlawful traffic behaviors and is not a strategy intended to increase arrests; in fact, it may actually yield decreased citation counts over time. The HVE will continue to occur throughout the summer, office availability permitting.
