A Crivitz man is in court on drunk driving and hit-and-run charges. 28-year-old Rodney Werner Jr was arraigned in Marinette County Court Wednesday. He was arrested in December of 2017 after he allegedly struck a vehicle on Highway 141 in Wausaukee and left the scene. The victim in that crash suffered a minor neck injury. Officers were able to follow Werner’s tracks to his residence where they found Werner and he admitted to hitting the other vehicle while trying to make his way home from a bar in Crivitz. Police also discovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the residence. Werner blew a 0.193 in a preliminary breath test- more than twice the legal limit. Wednesday, he pleaded not guilty to felony Hit and Run Involving Injury, and misdemeanor charges relating to the alleged drunk driving, Possession of THC, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Werner is due back in court September 10th for a status conference.
