10/30/2018- New to the area, but not to Wisconsin, the Democratic candidate for Wisconsin’s 89th District Assembly seat says he’s spent much of the past year getting to know the region and speaking with residents about the issues that concern them most. Ken Holdorf has lived in Wisconsin for the past twenty years and recently relocated to Marinette from Pleasant Prairie. He says he was inspired to throw his hat in the ring for State Representative by his opposition to the Back 40 Mine and the drive to protect Wisconsin’s natural resources.
Holdorf, who spent 20 years in the Navy, says if elected, he’ll also work to bolster Wisconsin’s veteran services and benefits.
As students and families face rising tuition costs, Holdorf says it’s time for the state to consider funding degrees and certificates from Wisconsin’s public universities and technical schools.
Holdorf has a bachelor’s degree in Business Management/ Human Resources and a master’s in Sustainable Management from UW- Parkside. This is his first run for political office. Voters will decide between Holdorf and incumbent John Nygren one week from today.
