The man accused of crashing his car into a utility pole and causing a widespread power outage in Menominee in October will serve jail time. 40-year-old Daniel Nicklaus has been ordered to sit eight months in jail after officials say he struck a power pole on Menominee’s 18th Street,, fled the scene, and then broke into the nearby WPS building and stole one of their vehicles. Nicklaus is said to have also crashed that vehicle a short time later. He’s been convicted of breaking and entering with intent in Menominee County Court. Nicklaus will receive credit for 57 days already served.
