11/19/2018- A proposed tax bill designed to incentivize Kimberly Clark to keep the doors open at their Cold Spring plant could provide security for their employees in Marinette. Assembly Bill 963 offers $100 million dollars in tax incentives to the paper-making giant, but requires them to retain at least 93% of their statewide full-time workforce, which includes the almost 250 people working at their Marinette location. A special hearing on the bill was held by Wisconsin’s Joint Finance Committee last week, but so far, no decision has been made. Kimberly Clark says if the bill fails to pass, the company could be forced to close the Cold Spring plant and move its operations to Arkansas.
