02/22/2019- The Representative for Michigan’s 108th District is hoping his constituents will aid in an effort to find a solution to the state’s no-fault car insurance law. Representative Beau LaFave of Iron Mountain has been appointed to the House Select Committee on Reducing Car Insurance Rates, which seeks to explore options and establish legislation that will help lower the state’s highest-in-the-nation auto premiums. The committee recently launched the website reducemiratesnow.com to allow Michigan residents a chance to weigh in on the issue. LaFave is encouraging all UP residents to visit the site and share their own auto insurance experience or lend other input. Ideas submitted by Michigan drivers will go directly to the Car Insurance Committee, who are next scheduled to meet March 6th.
