The Marinette County Law Enforcement Committee is recommending the County Board approve a resolution to change from an elected coroner to an appointed medical examiner at the beginning of 2019. The vote was only 3-2 in favor. The County Personnel Committee made a similar recommendation last week. But the Law Enforcement committee failed by a 3-2 vote to recommend amending the county ordinance to reflect the change in positions. The question will be taken up by the full county board later this month.
