Each year Law Enforcement Officers across the country gather to honor officers who have lost their lives in service to their communities.  The Marinette County Sheriff’s Department and Marinette Police Department hosted a memorial service at the UWGB-Marinette Theater on Tuesday. Sheriff Jerry Sauve says the names of 394 officers were added to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington.  295 officers were killed during 2020,  and 99 killed in the past who’s stories of sacrifice have only recently come to light.   In Wisconsin, 6 names will be added to the memorial in Madison, including two officers killed in 1933 and 1945.
