05/17/2019- Ordinary citizens are helping bring more people to justice locally. In the past year alone, tips submitted to Crime Stoppers of Marinette and Menominee Counties have helped solve more than a dozen cases. Through their coordination with law enforcement agencies on both side of the river, Crime Stoppers provides a secure way for people to offer information they have that could help lead to an arrest or conviction and keep our communities safer. Greg Salmen sits on the local Crime Stoppers Board. He says it’s the guaranteed anonymity that has more people willing to speak up.
School safety is at the forefront of everyone’s minds these days and Crime Stoppers is encouraging students to become involved in that with their Quick 50 program which offers them a $50 reward for tips about drugs and weapons in their schools.
Thanks to the advancement of technology there are now several avenues through which tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers. The first is online at mmcrimestoppers.com. People can also download the P3 Tips App on their smart phone or device. Lastly, tips can be submitted over the phone by calling 1800-427-5857. Again, anyone contacting Crime Stoppers through any of these methods can remain anonymous.
