05/08/2019- Tourism in Marinette County continues to hum. Travel Wisconsin released both statewide and local tourism industry figures for 2018 and the report shows there were $228-million in total business sales in the county in 2018. Nearly $33-million in wages were paid out for the 1500 jobs supported by visitors to the area and Marinette County generated almost $15.5-million dollars in state and local taxes last year. Room tax revenue also increased by 1.9% locally. It’s estimated 1 of every 13 jobs in Wisconsin is sustained by tourism.
