07/09/2018–The City of Marinette is ready to celebrate the 8th annual Logging and Heritage Festival this coming weekend.

Activities start Friday morning with a live broadcast from Stephenson Island on Local Five, WFRV-TV.   From 3 to 7pm, the Marinette Moose Lodge will hold a Fish Fry at Red Arrow Park.  Friday evening the movie Justice League will be shown on Stephenson Island.

Saturday’s schedule begins with the Ella Smetana Memorial 5K run/walk at 8am.   The Festival opens at 11am on Stephenson Island with a variety of entertainment and activities for the whole family.  Highlights include a Lumberjack Show at 2pm, the Johnny Wad Band at 6:30, and fireworks at Dusk.

Sunday the parade will go down Main Street this year from 6th street to Wells Street, starting at noon.  Other activities on Sunday include a Bike and Car Show, beard growing contest, and a Sawdust Dig for the kids.

There will be a free shuttle bus from Jack’s in Menominee to Stephenson Island.
