The Marinette County District Attorney’s Office announced that on August 30, 2021, that Brian Blasing was sentenced to 19 years in prison and 12 years of extended supervision in relation to two drug deliveries, one causing a drug-overdose death that occurred in the Town of Pound in February of 2019. Blasing was convicted after a jury trial in May 2021, of 1st Degree Reckless Homicide, as a party to a crime and as a repeater, for delivering fentanyl which caused the death of Terry Westphal. Blasing was also convicted at the same trial of Delivery of Cocaine, as a party to a crime and as a repeater, for a cocaine delivery that occurred in January 2019, in the Town of Peshtigo. Judge James Morrison sentenced Blasing to 17 years of initial confinement and 10 years of extended supervision on the 1st Degree Reckless Homicide charge and a consecutive 2 years of initial confinement and 2 years of extended supervision on the Delivery of Cocaine charge for a total of 19 years of initial confinement and 12 years of extended supervision.
Blasings co-defendant, Chasity Denny, entered pleas of Delivery of Schedule 2 Narcotics and Delivery of Cocaine, both as a party to a crime, in these cases. She was sentenced by Judge Morrison to a total of 6 years of initial confinement and 10 years of extended supervision consecutive to any other sentence.
