06/21/2019- It seems everyone along the shore of the bay is looking to protect their property from the damage caused by high water level trends and Marinette is no exception. The City is considering constructing a new retaining wall at Red Arrow Park near the parking lot. The wall would be about 218 feet in length and would still allow for access to the beach, but would hopefully prevent more of the flooding in the parking lot that has closed the park multiple times this season.
The retaining wall is expected to cost about $3600, which would be taken from the city’s contingency fund. A recommendation to approve the structure was forwarded on by the Finance and Insurance Committee to Marinette’s full common council.
