11/01/2019- Marinette County’s next budget is in place. The County Board reviewed the 2020 budget as presented by County Administrator John Lefebvre and Finance Director Laura Mans Tuesday. The budget shows an additional $15-million in expenditures over last year, largely attributed to debt reduction payme$6.25 million  it’s estimated to cost to renovate the former law enforcement center into usable office space for county employees. Despite the increase in spending, the operating tax rate declined by about 4-cents to 4.154 $1000 of assessed valuation. The 2020 budget was unanimously approved.
