06/28/2019- June is Dairy Month in Wisconsin and what better way to wrap it up than with a chance to get up close and personal with one of Marinette County’s own dairy operations? The county’s annual Breakfast on the Farm will be held this Sunday, June 30th at the Van De Walle Family farm on Red School Road in Peshtigo. The day features a petting zoo, kiddie tractor pulls, live music, tours of the farm, and of course, a breakfast featuring several farm-fresh classics. Corey Kuchta is the Chairperson of the Breakfast on the Farm Committee and says while agriculture is one of the state’s leading industries, not everyone is aware just what goes into getting food from the farm to the grocery store shelves.
Last year’s breakfast drew a crowd of about 4500 people. Kuchta says it’s a big undertaking feeding that many, but their team of several hundred volunteers from various agencies and organizations makes it all possible.
Marinette County Breakfast on the Farm runs from 7:30 until noon. Tickets are available on-site for $7 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-10.
