09/30/2020- “Everybody has to do their own part.” That’s the message Marinette County Administrator John Lefebvre has for the County Board as new data shows local coronavirus activity ranks among the most rapidly increasing in the United States. County Emergency Management officials are once again in talks with the state’s Department of Military Affairs to establish community testing sites in Marinette County. Lefebvre says if approved, they’ll likely take place over a few different dates in the coming days and weeks.

As confirmed COVID-19 cases increase, so does the caseload on the Public Health Department who is tasked with completing contact tracing for each infected individual. Lefebvre says that is creating somewhat of a backlog, which makes social distancing and other preventative practices even more critical in slowing the spread.

Marinette County has recorded 976 positive COVID-19 cases. Around 200 of those have been reported in the last seven days alone.
