Dogs have become an important part of many police departments. Just like officers, law enforcement K-9s put their lives on the line to serve and protect. The Marinette County Sheriff’s Department has three dogs, and they just added a fourth to their force. Handler Deputy Chad Haws says, “he’s a Belgium Malinois who will be three-years-old at the end of February, and currently weighs 80 pounds.”

While Vinny has only been on the job for two-weeks, his skills are being worked on daily with his handler while out in the field. The Marinette County Sheriff’s Department currently has one German Shepard, two Dutch Shepard’s, and now Vinny a Belgium Malinois as a part of their K-9 force. At this time, there is no word if they plan on adding additional K-9s to their department.
