With a 27-year career with local police forces and currently Marinette County; Patrol Sergeant Randy Miller is seeking the Republican nomination for Marinette County Sheriff. Current Sheriff, Jerry Sauve confirmed earlier this month that he will not seek re-election after his fourth term, with 38 years of service, on January 2nd, 2023. Miller says, “my faith is important to me, my friends, and we’ve talked extensively over the last couple of years about me running, and what it boils down to is a desire to continue to serve.”
“By running for Sheriff, I feel that by continuing my service and getting into that office, I can continue to serve in that capacity, “says Miller.
Miller states if he were to take office, he would like to combat the drug epidemic in the area by looking at adding a fourth K9 to their program, so they have a K9 on every shift within Marinette County. Miller says, “I’d also like to look at resources to supplement the narcotics investigation department. With those two things, I really think we can make a difference.” If necessary, a primary will take place on August 9th and the general election is slated for November.
