In the State of Wisconsin, COVID has moved down from the ‘EXTREMELY HIGH’ status to the ‘VERY HIGH’ with Marinette County trending in the same pattern. According to Molly Bonjean, Marinette County Public Health Officer, the state is averaging 60 new cases per 100,000 per day. Marinette County is a bit higher, averaging 64 new cases per day, per 100,000. At the beginning of the pandemic, Marinette County’s peak was at 220 new cases per day, per 100,000, whereas now, the county has dramatically dropped to 64 new cases per day, per 100,000. Bonjean says, “while the numbers look good, we are still in a critical category.” Currently, Marinette County ranks 40th out of the 72 counties.
