05/15/2020- While some Wisconsin counties have opted to enact their own stay home orders following the Supreme Court’s decision that struck down the Governor’s statewide mandate, Marinette County’s Public Health Department has announced they are not currently issuing any orders to direct how local businesses and organizations operate. Still, Public Health Officer Molly Bonjean urges businesses and residents to follow best practices to stay healthy and prevent the spread of COVID-19 by adopting safety guidelines to protect customers and staff. General precautions include providing PPE to staff and encouraging the use of face masks, offer hand washing or hand sanitizing stations to both staff and patrons, sanitizing workplaces frequently, posting signage on the door notifying patrons about policy changes and instructing them to stay away if they are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, and placing markers on the floor to indicate social distancing of at least 6 feet. Marinette County Public Health will continue to monitor the situation closely and will notify the public of any updates.
