Vying for an open judge’s seat in Marinette County Circuit Court Branch 1 is Marinette County’s District Attorney DeShea Morrow. Morrow starts the conversation about ethics saying, “I have standards for ethics in both my personal and professional career. It’s important as judge and it’s something that I will always strive to maintain. It’s a job that comes with a lot of responsibility and I understand the weight of that, and I take that very, very, seriously. “
“If I am elected judge, what they are going to get is someone who knows the law and knows my role as a judge. My role as a judge is to apply the law to the facts in front of me fairly and impartially, says Morrow.”
When discussing the Marinette County Court Budget, there appear to be some misunderstandings about what costs the county bears and what does not. For example, the state of Wisconsin, not Marinette County funds services like a Reserve Judge or Judicial College. DeShea highlighted this after reviewing comments made by Interim and Candidate Peggy Miller during a recent interview. Morrow is a founding member of the Drug Court Team and the Diversion Program. She has received endorsements from a wide range of community leaders, demonstrating their confidence in her capabilities. If elected as circuit court judge, the voters of Marinette County can trust that she will apply the same drive and commitment to excellence that she has shown as District Attorney.
