Area kids could have a new way to keep cool and have fun in the summertime. Marinette Parks and Recreation Committee discussed installing a splash pad within the city at their meeting Wednesday. Committee member Brian Walters says the feature is at the top of the city’s recreation priorities list and he hopes beginning the planning process early will better the odds of the project making its way into next year’s budget. Walters didn’t speculate on how much the splash pad might cost or where it could be built, but he did ask recreation department officials to look into potential locations where water utilities are already available to help lower some of the costs.
