Marinette’s Comprehensive Plan isn’t due for an update for another four years, but city officials are already getting a jump on it. The City is considering contracting with Bay Lakes Regional Planning to complete the 2024 Comprehensive Plan update, which would cost as much as $45000, however that cost could be cut in half if the City receives the Wisconsin Coastal Management Program grant they’re applying for next month. Common Council approved the Scope of Services presented to them by Bay Lakes Tuesday. Bay Lakes’ proposed timeline for the work would be from July of 2020 through June of 2021, which allows for some flexibility if there are any unforeseen issues or delays in the planning process. Marinette’s last Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2004.
