A Marinette woman died in a house fire Monday afternoon. At approximately 1:17pm, Marinette County Dispatch received a 911 call for a residential structure fire located at 1202 Logan Avenue in Marinette. 58-year old Susan M Nielsen was located inside the home. Nielsen was transported to Aurora Medical Center- Bay Area where she had succumbed to her injuries.

 

This is an ongoing investigation and the Marinette Police Department is working closely with the Marinette Fire Department, Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation Fire Marshall, to determine the cause of the fire. At this time the cause of the fire is not believed to be suspicious or criminal.
