The Menominee Maroons are runners-up in Division Three in the State of Michigan. In Menominee’s first State Championship game in 55 years, the Maroons fell to the Schoolcraft Golden Eagles 59-49 at the Breslin Center in East Lansing.  Schoolcraft entered the game on a 20 game winning streak and had defeated defending state champion and number one ranked Flint Beecher in their semi-final game.  Schoolcraft outshot Menominee 46 to 34 percent and out-rebounded the Maroons 40-26.  Menominee was led by Brady Schultz with 19 points and Aiden Bellisle with 14.  Coach Sam Larson’s team ends the season with a 23 and 4 record.

 

The Welcome Back Celebration for the team will be held at the High School on April 4th, as Menominee is on Spring Break next week many members of the team are heading off to break this weekend.  More details on the celebration will be released next week.
