In their regular City of Marinette Council Meeting Tuesday evening the conversation of COVID-19 arose. Since the delta variant is becoming more prominent in the area the council thought it best to discuss whether masking at all in-person meetings at city hall should be set in place.  Alderperson Rick Polzin says, “The people in the community they want a choice, they don’t want mandates.”

“Most of the people that I’ve heard of and what I’ve seen in other areas its businesses as usual,” says Polzin.

While there was much discussion regarding the masking, ultimately the council agreed that masks must be required at all in-person meetings, and they will allow the mayor to make the determination as to when the masks will no longer be required at in-person meetings.
