Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve announces May 6th through the 12th is National Correction Officers Week. He says the responsibilities of these highly-trained officers have become increasingly complex and demanding and the need to protect both themselves and those around them is ever-present. Sauve adds with high population numbers at the local jail, Correctional Officers are placed in dangerous and unpredictable situations, but still strive to help inmates effectively reenter society. Sauve is asking the public to join him in recognizing and thanking these officers who serve a vital role in the corrections field.
