Recently, Menominee Mayor-Elect Casey Hoffman sent out an open letter to Rize and The Fire Station. The two dispensaries currently suing the city to preserve the original marijuana ordinance, under which Rize and The Fire Station won the allotted permits. Other dispensaries then sued, and the city has since uncapped the limit on permits. Casey Hoffman says, “recently, Rize lawyers convinced a court to temporarily shut down three Menominee dispensaries. They uprooted 70 plus dispensary jobs overnight, only to have that ruling reversed by the same court days later.”

Hoffman says, “these are good companies that need to come to the table and re-emerge as a member of Menominee Community of Businesses.”

Hoffman is set to take office in less than a month. Hearings for the Marijuana lawsuit brought by Rize and The Fire Station are scheduled into next year.
