01/23/2019- Something fishy is happening in Menominee. A project being planned by the Menominee Business Development Corporation will bring a trio of new fish sculptures to the city this summer. MBDC Director Nancy Douglas says the organization received more than $67000 of funding from CUPPAD for public art that promotes economic development. Douglas says the ten-foot aluminum sculptures of perch, bass, and brown trout will be placed throughout the city to celebrate their heritage and resources. She adds the project will be completed without the use of any taxpayer dollars and anticipates the sculptures will be largely maintenance-free. Rusty Wolfe of Rusty Wolfe Studios in Marinette has agreed to create the pieces for the amount of funding received by the MBDC.
