Marinette County’s Association for Business and Industry provides more insight on what a restructuring of the organization might look like should they take on the county’s tourism promotion services. Thursday, MCABI Executive Director Lindsay Callow presented the Board of Directors with a growth model for the organization that includes both short- and long-term objectives and staffing needs. She says goals for MCABI’s executive team would be to brand the county, increase its web presence, and research the implementation of a tourism expansion zone. The organization’s tourism branch would focus on increasing daytime and extended-stay visits to the county, while those on the economic development side would support existing business and cultivate new business growth, work to expand the county’s workforce, and focus on overall community development. Marinette County is considering contracting with MCABI for their tourism promotion. Callow plans to present the proposed growth model to the county board to determine if the plan fits their needs before making any firm commitments.
