11/07/2018- The Michigan DNR is looking for more UP residents to sit on their Citizens Advisory Councils. DNR officials say there are vacancies in both the Eastern and Western Councils, which cover all UP counties. The Councils meet every two months and are designed to advise the DNR on regional programs and policies, identify areas in which the department can be more effective, and offer insight from members’ own experiences and from the public. To be eligible to sit on the council, a person must have their primary residence located in the UP and apply by November 30th. Application forms and more information about the Citizens Advisory Councils can be found online at michigan.gov/upcac.
