07/27/2018- Nestled between Marinette and Menominee is a little neighborhood with a lot of history. For the last forty years, Menekaunee’s past and current senior residents have met once a year at the Menekaunee Old Timers Picnic to celebrate the area and share stories about their time there. This year’s picnic will be held tomorrow at Red Arrow Park. Sharon Powilaites is the event organizer. She says the picnic is open to anyone age 50 and over with ties to Menekaunee and it serves as a homecoming for many guests who travel from across the country to attend.
The Menekaunee Old Timers Picnic begins at noon and guests are asked to bring their own lawn chairs and beverages. The cost to attend is $15 per person to cover the cost of the catered meal and facility rental.
