Buyarski says, “this is a pilot to see how it goes at the Junior – Senior High. For the last few weeks left of school we will be able to work the kinks out and fine tune it and hopefully, have it ready to roll out for next school year.”

During a two-month study and dialogue, the School District reached out to numerous other school districts who instilled similar policies; all said the results of eliminating cell phones were overwhelmingly positive. One building principal said, “students were forced to interact with each other! After the initial anxiety of not having their cell phones wore off, the increase in positive interactions and energy in our building was palpable!”
