10/01/2018- A Menominee Coaching icon has passed away. Ron “Satch” Englund died Saturday at the age of 83. He was the long time defensive coordinator for the Menominee Maroons football teams under Coach Ken Hofer, including the 1998, 2006, and 2007 state championship teams. He also coached Marinette Catholic Central Girls Basketball teams to six state championships. He was a member of the Upper Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame, inducted in 2013. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Anderson Kell Funeral Home.
