For a second time since the Coronavirus pandemic began, the Menominee County Board appears ready to send a resolution to Lansing expressing their concerns over the restrictions that have been placed on citizens and business. Following a tense discussion at Tuesday’s meeting, the board voted 6-3 to move the resolution forward for a final vote next meeting. The resolution, offered by Commissioners Dave Prestin and Larry Phelps supports a collective effort by Michigan Counties in opposing current and any future shutdown orders in response to COVID-19. Baraga and Delta Counties last month approved resolutions opposing the state restrictions. Commissioners Lang, Gromola, and Piche voted against forwarding the resolution.
