08/28/2020- Menominee County has reached an unfortunate milestone in the COVID-19 pandemic, assuming the top spot in the U.P. for confirmed coronavirus cases. The County outpaced Marquette County Tuesday and continues to hold a narrow lead over them with 205 total positive cases as of Thursday afternoon. Menominee County, however, has yet to report any deaths related to the virus and 70 individuals are said to be fully recovered. In Marinette County 582 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed with 6 deaths. Marinette County has the seventh worst rate of confirmed coronavirus cases in the Wisconsin. Just south in Oconto County 405 residents have tested positive for COVID-19 and the county has recorded 2 deaths.
