09/30/2019- Menominee County saw a drop in unemployment last month. The latest report from Michigan’s Department of Technology, Management, and Budget shows the county’s August jobless rate came in at 4.4%, down from 5% recorded in July, but still higher than the 3.7% unemployment seen in August of 2018. Statewide unemployment sat at 4.2% last month, down almost a full percentage point from July’s 5.1%. Joblessness in Michigan was at 4.1% one year ago.
