Menominee County Administrator Jason Carrivou presented the proposed 2021/2022 budget to the county board yesterday evening with full support. While there were some increases and decreases in the budget overall the county will be starting out strong going into 2022 with $4.1 million in the fund balance; that is a 47% starting rate for the budget year. Carrivou says, “overall I am very happy with where the county stands financially right now, the only thing that is hanging over us like a dark cloud is the pension liability until it’s taken care of.”

With the preliminary numbers looking good and revenue at $8.2 million for the county. The board will meet in two-weeks to approve or adjust the 2021/2022 budget.
