05/13/2019- Hydrant flushing begins in Menominee this week. The work is being done from 38th Avenue north to the city limit east and west of 10th Street and is expected to get underway tomorrow. Residents in this region may experience some discoloration of their water and possibly lower-than-normal water pressure. While these conditions do not pose any health risk, customers are cautioned to determine if their water is clear before washing clothes. Those with discolored water should run cold water through their faucets for about ten minutes. Hydrant flushing helps maintain the city’s water quality and evaluate the amount of water available for fire fighting purposes. The work will continue through June 7th.
