10/26/2018- There’s new leadership at the Menominee Junior/Senior High School. The district’s Board of Education approved the hiring of Michael Sweet at their meeting Thursday night. Sweet comes to the district from Shelby, Michigan where he most recently served as interim administrator. His background in education also includes fifteen years of English and social studies instruction and six years as superintendent and K-12 principal at Walkerville Public Schools. Sweet says Menominee is the largest district he’s worked in.
Although Sweet has already spent some time at Menominee Junior/Senior High, his first official day with the district will be November 1st.
Sweet replaces previous Junior/Senior High School Principal Alison Granquist who resigned just before the start of this school year.
