08/20/2018- Local police officers got a birds-eye view of Menominee last week. It was all part of a fundraising effort called Cop on a Rooftop, which was held throughout the Midwest by Dunkin’ Donuts and various law enforcement agencies. For five hours Friday morning, officers from the Menominee Police Department stood atop the Dunkin’ Donuts store in Menominee collecting money for Special Olympics Michigan. Detective Sergeant Jason McGhee says the department raised more than $700 Friday, which will help pay for athletes to attend the Special Olympics games. A second fundraiser supporting Special Olympics Michigan takes place next month- the Law Enforcement Torch Run will be held in Menominee September 9th.
