The Menominee Area Public School Board met Monday evening to address a myriad of topics. However, one main topic of interest was the COVID-19 prevention strategy for the district. Interim Superintendent Steve Martin says,” we were able to look at some our attendance numbers and look at how many students are missing school because of COVID-19; whether it’s contracting or in close contact.”

Currently, the school district has had a combined 42 related COVID absences at Blesch and Central Schools since last Thursday. Which still puts the district at a ninetieth percentile which is still under the cap of their 88% for mandated masking. The board will re-evaluate the numbers at their next board meeting which will be held later this month.
