With the current Waste Management contract expiring in February, Menominee’s Public Safety/Public Works Committee wants to look at the different options and their costs. Those options would include curbside recycling pickup, using bins for curbside trash pickup, and whether changes in the pickup of bulk items can be improved.  City Manager Tony Graff says he’ll bring proposals from Waste Management to the committee next month.  If after reviewing those options, the committee feels they want to look at other providers, Graff says he would need to prepare a request for proposals by September.  He says it’s important to have a contract signed 90 days before it goes into effect to allow the company time to prepare.
