The Michigan House yesterday approved and sent to the state senate a bill providing $175 million dollars for road preservation and construction across Michigan.  State Representative Beau LaFave who voted for the bill, says the money is carried over from the 2018 budget cycle and is already available, with no budget cuts made or additional taxes required. The money would be available  as early this summer with local and county crews receiving added funding as well.

LaFave says Menominee County would receive $376,000 while the city of Menominee would see $72,392.   Stephenson, Powers, Daggett and Carney would also see allocations for local streets.  The House Bill  advances to the Senate for further consideration.
