09/13/2019- A new officer is joining the force in Menominee County. This week the County’s Board of Supervisors approved the purchase of a new police K-9 to be trained in narcotics detection. The German Shepherd and its handler will be trained in mid-October. The cost for the dog, its training, and related equipment comes in around $13500, which will come from the Sheriff’s Department designated K-9 Fund. Sheriff Kenny Marks says all three of the county’s existing K-9 officers are approaching retirement age.
