Music that ranges from hymns to Caribbean to the Blues Brothers will fill the Marinette High School Auditorium this weekend. The Northeastern Wisconsin Concert Band takes the stage Sunday for their annual spring concert. Conductor Glen Reinke says it’s billed as music for the entire family. These concerts come together in just six rehearsals, but don’t let that fool you. The band, now in it’s 26th season, puts on an impressive show that brings people back year after year.
The over 70-member band is comprised of members from all walks of life and some drive up to an hour to attend rehearsals. Reinke says having this type of a band is a unique asset for the community and they’re always welcoming new performers.
Sunday’s performance begins at 3:30 and tickets are only available at the door. Admission costs $5 per adult and $2 for students.
