09/04/2019- The Marinette City Council approved hiring Ayres Associates to do a study on the beams supporting the Fishing Platform on the Hattie Street Bridge. There are 21 Double-T beams that support the platform. Five were replaced during the 2017 bridge deck project, but a recent Wisconsin DOT inspection revealed 5 additional beams are now showing deterioration. The Ayres study will determine how much deterioration has occurred and what course of action to take. The study will cost $10,500. The Marinette Council approved the contract contingent on the City of Menominee picking up half the cost. Half the bridge is owned by each city.
